more affordable housing, world class buses and trains, & RESTORe PUBLIC TRUST

have our lives GOTTEN BETTER?

Our district is changing. We’re ground zero for renter evictions and luxury apartments, while sidewalks and infrastructure stay disinvested and unsafe. Our children grow up with higher rates of lung disease as we experience more annual extreme heat days. The gap between the rich and poor continues to widen. There’s no accountability from our government.

District 54, have our lives gotten better? Have our neighborhoods grown stronger? Career politicians have failed to deliver on the most basic needs of our community. We need to make a change.

i’m your local nonprofit leader.

Born in the district, I’ve been a nonprofit leader for two decades, building multiracial coalitions to promote health and justice-centered policies like:

Fixing LA Sidewalks for Our Families

I fought for million dollar budgets to improve our sidewalks and traffic safety for our students and families walking to school, seniors, and transit riders.

Funding for Disability & Family Health

I worked to expand healthcare to 4 million children and pregnant people through the Children’s Health Insurance Act and secured $1.75 million in annual funding for children with disabilities.

Fighting Big Tobacco & Teen Smoking

I helped pass the California Tobacco Tax (Prop 56), raising $1.4 billion to fight teen smoking & Big Tobacco.

MORE AFFORDABLE HOUSING EVERYWHERE

We must do two things at the same time to fix the housing crises.

Protect our renters from falling into homelessness and unlawful evictions and expedite affordable housing to be built everywhere.

SAFE SIDEWALKS &
BETTER PUBLIC TRANSIT

Our district is the center of the homeless and mental health crises.

We need public spaces that are both dignified and compassionate. We can have that by investing in sidewalks, transit, parks and on-the-ground community ambassadors providing mental health and housing support.

restore public trust & Accountability

Focus on solutions, not more of the same

The public’s confidence in government has understandably dropped as our tax dollars have not improved our situation. We need more accountability to address the rising cost of living; crime and safety; and homelessness.

we don’t need big money, we need you.
